Tom Pritchard began his musical journey at age ten when he started playing viola with his school orchestra. Since then, he has fostered a deep passion for playing and teaching music.
Tom earned his Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Rhode Island and his Masters in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music. His thesis paper topic was how to play and teach using a five-string violin. He has been teaching orchestra for seven years and is currently working in Cranston, Rhode Island.
He is an active board member for both the Massachusetts String Teacher Association and the Rhode Island Bluegrass Alliance and performs with numerous bands, including “Lizzie James and the Greystone Rail”, voted Motif Magazine's "Best Rhode Island Bluegrass Band" for 2016 and 2017.
